Hey everyone... I like to have contests running on my forum where people can win prizes, but I'm looking for some good ideas...

If you post a unique contest idea here, I will pay you $200 Fbucks.

If you post an idea that I think is awesome, I will pay you $500 Fbucks!

Also, don't forget to leave a trader rating, and I will do the same

Edit - sorry, forgot to mention... Limit 2 entries per person please!

Heh, make them work! Have a contest where they must type up a report on a piece of technology, and the winner wins something, so does 2nd and 3rd. Then all of the reports go into a section for all to view in the future

Just an idea I got in about 10 seconds though, I might have more

I have an idea. You know how you can have a song play on the main page? (at least I think you can) You could have like once a week pick a new song to play all day and whoever guesses the artist and title first wins. I don't know if members would get annoyed by the song though, I guess it depends what you pick.

You don't need to pay me for any more I might have. It's just fun.

Sort of like XxMAGGOTxX's idea, post something like a machine picture, game screenshot, software picture or something, and whoever guesses what it is first wins.

(I'll edit this post if I get another idea in 15 minutes)

EDIT: I have this going on my forum, but it isn't really a contest. Set up some sort of thread and ask for places you can 'legally' advertise the forum/site. Then whoever gives you links to a certain number of places to advertise you give them something.

^ yeah, or not even like a whole machine, jsut part of it, and then they guess what it is, I'm sure you've seen examples of games like this in magazines on on the back of a cereal box.

On your forumer you could have a Contest Board, if they win the get FBuck$ if there on the site or code snippets and skin or if they are the runner up you could give them something

Nolu, I'm not sure if I understand... Not all of my forums members are forumer members... so I don't know if that would work.. I'll still pay $200Fbucks for the idea.

Anyway, more detail about my contests: Yes, they are for VIP members, and any staff member. VIP members are members that have 200+ posts, so it might be hard to judge who helped who get VIP status...

Also, as far as prizes... So far, I have given out custom user titles, and the option of changing another users title. Also, right now there is a contest running, and the winner get a $10.00 gift certificate to my website! Also, I am working on other prize ideas also, but probably will include gift cards to stores, maybe some "computer" accessories... etc...

The only other thing I can think of right now is give them riddles and the first person to solve wins, but people will just google them and get the answers anyway. I don't know, I'll let you know if I come up with anything good.

You could have a "Re-create a Song contest" contest!

Give the members a simple song. Something easy to re-create and the best recreation wins 1st place!
