Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is most likely one of the best Role-Playing Games of all time for PC, it enables you to explore a massive world with a depth or Role-Playability and variation. The worlds are well developed, the story one of the best I've ever seen(better, I may add, than any of the Star Wars films) and the setting fantastic.

What this forum is attempting to do is translate everything KOTOR did right and give you even more freedom. Yes, more. But first of all what is a Forum RPG, basically you create a character with a background and thoughts and then go onto a Forum and "role-play" by writing what is essentially a story of posts with other people. Now to some this may sound incredibly boring but in actuality its a LOT of fun.

But I digress. In this forum you make a member of one of a several factions within the KOTOR Setting: The Guild of Mercenaries(a ruthless legal faction of mercenaries and assassins), the Exchange(the mafia that handles drugs, smuggling and the like), the Mandalorians(a group of radical and honorific warriors, Boba Fett was one of these), The Galactic Republic(the government of the Galaxy that gives you the opportunity to be a Senator or Soldier protecting the galaxy), the Sith Empire(the evil followers of the Dark side who are attempting to take over the galaxy...be a soldier or Dark Jedi), and of course everyone's favorite the Jedi.

As a member of these factions you undertake missions with other members assigned by your Faction Leader to advance the goals of the Faction. eg as a Jedi you may be sent to calm a civil dispute on Dantooine or stop a war at Krevor, or as a Guild Merc you may be sent to assasinate a rebel leader on Tatooine. Other than faction missions you have the freedom to explore the galaxy or hang around your faction's planet. Whatever happens the paths of destiny and control lie in your control, because you are the writer. No game mechanics or limited minds of developers will restrict you.

So, why is this so important now? Well it appears the forum has had a bit of a slump, but hey thats OK cause there is a war going on. Wars mean excitment, battles, combat et cetera. Chances for you as a Role-Player to have fun without the boring sitting around in base camp stuff. So here's the story so far: The Sith Empire under the leadership of Darth Malice has assassinated the Republic Chancellor, as this washappening the Jedi Order launched a daring raid of the Sith homeworld of Korriban hoping to rescue a member of the Jedi Council, Ruon Fulkur. Currently the Jedi have just returned battered and beaten from Korriban but with Master Fulkur safe with them and the Sith are rearming and gaining in strength. The Galactic Republic is declining and they will need the Jedi to assist them in the war...who the Mandalorians, Guild and Exchange align with are up for grabs.

I urge you to join this forum as I have, it has a strong dedicated community of core Role-Players and really it only needs more people to make the battles and Role-Plays more intense. Even if you think you aren't good I urge you to take a look or even join in the battle.



Ok so here is the nice short version for those of you who don't want to read the above.

War has broken over the galaxy with the Sith Empire marching to war against the leaderless and weak Republic, supported only by the small but strong Jedi Order. The Exchange(aka the mafia), the Mercenaries and the Mandalorians wait patiently on the sidelines to join sides in this great war 4000 years before the events of the Star Wars movies. Join Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and create a unique character with unlimited potential and expansion and take him through a story that never ends. YOU decide your character, YOU decide what happens.

Here's a snippet of some awesome roleplaying, from in my opinion our best roleplayer, Graffi.

"The hallway was cold and silent, broken only by the hum of his lightsaber and his footsteps on the cold, hard stone. He turned around and walked slowly backward, eyeing the bright main hallway crowded with the dead and the dying Sith. Further down the hallway the sensitive Tusken ears could hear the clash of lightsabers and the roar of repeating blasters as the Jedi engaged the Sith soldiers, and by now probaly Dark Jedi.

Graffi stopped for a moment and meditated: He concentrated on the Jedi's battle, the fight for survival and victory by the Jedi, by his Master. He loved and trusted his Master more than anyone else in the world, he could never strike him down. He was his guide and his father. But the Jedi...the Jedi seemed foriegn to Graffi, he grown up with them, trained as one of them, was for all intents and purposes a Jedi, but in some ways...a lot of ways he disliked the Order's strict guidlenes. They had continued too long as a group, too long as an orginization, their traditions meant more to them than reason, they needed new blood and new thoughts, new traditions to revive the Order.

Graffi sighed deeply, "But for all my disliking of the Jed....am I not Jedi?"

IF you think you can top that I'd love to see it.

The Site has reached a moment of need. We've had a few older members return (Vash, Ronnac) BUT, we still need your help so please join the site, Currently if you join the Sith, you can take part in a stand off between me and two of my allies, and the rest of the Sith. If you join the Guild, you can be on your way to capture me assisting yes, Romanus. If you join the Jedi, you can have absolute power over the SENATE, MUHAHAHAHAHAHA. If you join the Mandalorians, then you can have plenty of brutal battles, and if you join the Exchange you can make alot of money.

I'd like to post another snippet from the site's newer RPing, this time using Romanus as an example cuz he's almost as good as Graffi.......almost......lol

"Six levels beneath the dirty streets of Nar Shaddaa, sixty-nine feet of metal, electronics and the garbage necessary to sustain humanoid(and mostly human) life above him, six hundred and ten feet of more metal and garbage and another fifteen hundred miles of rock and lava beneath him. From there you reached the lava core and then moved on up to the other side of Nar Shaddaa, just as dirty and worthless as the side that sat six stories above him.

Sublevel Six, the name inspired grand thoughts of an industrial and mechanical complex with shining metal walls of beauty and strength, the name inspired thoughts of military bases and space stations. The reality inspired little more than disgust and revulsion. Well, Romanus couldn't complain that much, his new Contractor's Suite was large and spacious, its white furniture and metal walls clean and sharp. The Armory was extensive and the features worthy of the Supreme Chancellor himself, not that Loko Areba would be using them anytime soon.

He felt like a Tarkalian rat living in a hole in the ground, though surrounded by luxury his sense of nature told him with certaintly that he was indeed surrounded by dirt. This was not his nature, this was not his instinct and his soul yelled out at him for the violation of his being. As he relaxed on a white leather lounge, the artificial lights dimmed to near darkness Romanus realized how much he needed nature, how sick he was of the dirty artificial feeling of Nar Shaddaa. He could escape it for the day in his office, surrounded by the nature of home and the smells of the wild, elevated above the filth with the sun shining through the window warming his fur..but as he retreated to Sublevel 6, Contractors Suite he felt like he was running into a hole covered in filth.

Yet a visit to the armory could wipe away his depression and frustration with his life and indeed fill him with a love for his position and his job. The white room was only half the size of his office, but it was large enough to fit a ground assault vehicle in, if there were any reason or way to. Its walls were lined with orderly weapon racks full of vibroswords, swords, knives, blaster rifles and blaster pistols. A small, thin cooler mounted in the center of the right wall held small vials of the blood of his captures and kills, each one accompanied by a memory of the glory of the kill implanted in the Ewok's hardened mercenary mind. A large island in the center of the room held a workbench and the remnants of his various 'projects' on weapons and armor and beneath it munitions, ammunition and explosives were held. Panels hidden in the floor held electronic equipment, computer spikes and various hacking and survelliance equipment. But in the two farthest corners of the room Romanus' pride and joy stood waiting for him; his powered combat armor.

This was what the wealth, power and influence of the Contractor of the Guild's office earned Romanus and he loved every ounce of it.

A soft beep reminded Romanus of what the rest of the office earned him: responsibilites and duty. He pressed a button on his electronic armband, a new part of his armor an clothing he was prototyping, and the luscious voice of his Twi'lek secretary came through, "The office of the Supreme Chancellor just sent a wave requesting your presence at Coruscant within two days or a personal response over the Holonet."

A call from the office of the Supreme Chancellor?! "L'araba you are aware that the Supreme Chancellor is dead, don't you?"

He could hear the Twi'lek sigh, "No, Contractor, I only serve as the secretary to the head of the most powerful bounty hunters guild in the galaxy with access to over six thousand information channels. Yes sir, I am well aware the Chancellor is dead, however the office still requests you. Oh op, wait," he could hear a slight beeping over the com line, "Ah here it is, the office of Chancellor has been turned over by a unanimous vote of the Senate to the Jedi Council and its representative, Jedi Master Craven Qel-Droma."

The Chancellorship turned over to the Jedi Council? This was an interesting development and one Romanus planned to use to his advantage. The political ramifications of this act could be felt centuries or millenia down the line, the fact that the Jedi were taking nearly total control of the Republic, with the Senate's unanimous approval, stuned Romanus. "Very well, L'araba, send them a response that I will meet with their representative on Coruscant in two days."

"You are vistiing the Mon Calamari Committee on Public Safety that entire day, Contractor."

Visiting with the Mon Calamari Committee on Public Safety? Ah yes, Romanus remembered, to discuss the establishment of a local Guild house to assist in the lowering of crime and the potential of a high level Contract on their most wanted list, Very important meeting with a high profit count. "L'araba give them my sincerest apologies for not being able to attend and send um just send one of my assistants with instructions to negotiate the deal and then send word back to me. This is far more important," he paused and smiled, "When the Supreme Chancellor says jump you jump at the credit chips he controls."

"As you wish, sir."

A soft beep signaled the ending of the call and Romanus turned back to his armory, and his present duty. Quickly stripping off his leather hood he grabbed from a drawer the black bodysuit he wore under his armor and pulled it on. Slowly he pulled on the rest of he armor, hooking the straps, buckles and latches with precision and diligence, shifting his small body to handle the weight of the armor. Though the armor was as thin as possible and made of the lighest titanium alloy it still weighed a lot to the smal Ewok and he prefered the natural feeling of the hood only. But blasters made big holes through the hood and this furry body and his powered combat armor had seen him through several skirmishes. Not without a scratch Romanus remembered as he rubbed his back with fond memory, but alive nonetheless.

After half an hour he was finally suited up, and with a press of a small red button at his wrist the suit powered up. Immediatly the small Ewok could feel the difference, the powercell in the back plate of the armor powering gears that gave Romanus strength and agility far greater than he had before. It was an expensive addition to an already expensive armor but it was worth it.

Opening up some panels in the floor Romanus grabbed several computer spikes and stashed them in his utility belt, along with several concussion and fragmentation grenades. As an afterthought he grabbed three powercells for his blaster and hooked a large suit battery cell onto his back. With a smile on his face he grabbed his prized Dai-Katana with cortosis weave and sheathed it on his back and his old Guild Knife and sheated it on his upper left leg. Completeing his armor he grabbed his helmet and slowly placed it on, locking onto the neck brace, its succesful connection rewarded his ears with a hissing noise.

For a moment he was disoriented with the blackness that greated him, but with a whack to the side the powercell engaged into the helmets circuits and the helmet display lighted up showing him information on the suit and, to his relief, the white walls of the Armory.

Smiling at his armarments and preparedness, sure in his abilities and weapons to do the job at hand Romanus marched out of the armory, up nineteen levels to the Guild docking bay and into his personal shuttle. Deftly he powered it up and flew it out of the bay and into the setting sun of Nar Shaddaa. "I wish it looked like this all of the time," he mused, "with the beauty of the sun from up here it doesn't look so filthy, so rotten." Then with armor gauntleted hands the small Ewok Contractor left orbit and entered hyperspace headed for Korriban, and Deltha Darklighter. "
