I seem to have people that came to my forums(one is phpbb2 and the other 3) and right after I did, I had some people from Direct Advertisement to try to have me advertise my forum at theirs. They stay to make a couple posts then disappear and I get annoyed by it.

Ban them, and their email ids.
EDIT- after seeing your forum, i think it is a bot.
Remove guest posting if you don't want this to happen.

I will make that suggestion to Limez, to disable guest posting.

Forum admins have a choice of disabling guest posts in fSettings.

Yeah, but I meant disable it server wide so you can't even enable it, so there is less erver strain.

That would not be good.
Several admins like to keep guest posting enabled.

Guest posting has been disabled on all servers, server 50 is new so it might have been missed...........but I think it makes sense to disable it especially as phpBB3 is still in testing stage...

You mean Admins cannot enable guest posting if they wish?
My suggestion: Keep it disabled by default, and if the admins desire it to be enabled, they can do so.
I have an option in fSettings for that.

well this has been discussed in another thread so I am not getting into it but basically many admins enabled guests posting and left the forums unmoderated causing a lot of spam being posted and the servers strained.... so it has been really done in the best interest of us all...

Yeah, you have the option, but not neccesarily the feature.

It's to keep rogue spammers spamming forums with thousands of posts.

(I was on this thread for too long)

I agree it should be kept.

But how could a bot recognize bugs in the forum such as knowing it had to "refresh" the page because it wouldnt redirect, etc?

Either way, this may be a bot, but I think guest posting isnt a bad idea.

There are some really advanced bots.
Google bots now are even registering at forums.
