Exclamation Can not download files (uploaded) in topic in forum and uploaded images do not show

OK, I tried to find a search function in this forum, and failed to do so, so this question might have been asked before, but please be patient with me and answer it again.. or at least direct me to the previous answer.

I'm trying to add attachments (pictures) to posts in my forum. But for some or other reason, the links all tel me "forbidden" or "404 Not Found"

Could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I've set the attachment settings to accept all attachments 5MiB and smaller, and everything is "allow". No image size restrictions (0x0) and the uploads seems to be working fine..

Please Help

well it doesnt matter what you set it to, cause the max allowed attachment size is 2MB so you can not upload anything larger...

Not the point really. The files I tried to upload were not even 1Mb in size.

I can not tell you what you're doing wrong because I don't exactly know how you set the forum up, I will need a "Test" user account with admin access so I can have a look at your settings and if there is a bug, report it. (Click on my user name and email link to send the log in details)

to make admin:
ACP -> Permissions -> Global permissions -> click on Users' permission -> Write "User name" in the Look up user section then click on Submit -> from the Select type: drop down menu chose Admin permissions and click on Go then from the Role drop down menu chose Full admin and click on Apply all permissions.

btw, the Search function on this forum is on the top blue bar, just under your user name....

I have moved your post from the thread you posted to because this is a completely different issue, please in the future make your own support threads.

I have tested this on my test board and I can confirm that this is a bug that affects all forums, I will make a report about this and update this thread when I get news.

ok I just had a look at your forum and now I see what you mean, this problem has also been reported by another user and has been reported to the admin and the techs and we are working on it, I will merge your thread with the other one and update it when I get any news about it...

For now the best way to display images on your forum is to upload them in an image host and link them in using the [img] tags.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Default can't see attachment pics

hey guys,

I've just signed up to forumer. I've set up my two topics, and I went to do a test post, and attach an image, but nothing came up! Just the little red x in the white box!

I attached it properly and clicked submit. I don't understand why this is happening. Can someone walk me through how to fix it?!

I have the same problem. I've just signed up and created a forum yesterday, and tried creating a test post with an image attachment from the HD. The image gets attached fine, but then it doesn't show up in the post except as a piece of text, or as a 404 link. This is the error I get when trying to view the attached file:

"The requested URL /download/file.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."
