Default ad causes virus pop up

Lately when I open the forum in IE or Opera my antivirus software, avira, sometimes goes crazy; it pops up multiple warning boxes that don't stop opening until I close the browser. I'm posting a screen shot of one of them. When this happens it is always the same ad, nterzone.com. Now I can understand the need for ads but they should not set off alarms with any antivirus software. So far none of my members have said anything but I am seriously wondering if viruses are being downloaded.

I don't understand why our forum's content would be the deciding factor as to our ads? Also why does one of them try to download viruses? Is that (having a virus ridden ad) even legal?

What does it cost to go ad-free?

the cost depends on how busy your forum is as you are paying 1fBuck/page view... you get 30 000 fBuck$ for $5USD if you buy them in the ACP of your forum.

The google ads work based on word recognition, so your content matter, if your forum violates our TOS then so will the ads...

Is this cost per month or whenever we need it?

it is cost per page view... if your forum is busy with many members, it can take shorter, if you only have a few members not so much activity, then it takes longer... as I said, you get 30 000 page views for $5USD (that is every click, refresh and so on...)

Is there a minimum purchase amount for the ads? I have almost 1k fbucks. If I transfered 1k fbucks to my forum would I be able to use them to buy that much in ad free hits? I take it that they aren't going to take away the problematic add or are they? I see that other forums are having the same problem.

as long as you got fBucks on your account the ads will be removed, when you run out, the ads will be back,

You can transfer your fBucks via the FAP account to your forum then activate ad removal in ACP -> fSettings -> fpremium upgrades -> Ad removal -> change to Enabled -> click on Update, then tick the Exclude Guests from Ad Removal and click on update (that will save you some fBucks as only registered members will have the ads removed...

you can also deactivate the bots as they count as registered members ACP-> system

I'm getting the same issue on my forum and my members ARE complaining. Once the cookie attempts (which I counted at over 100 different cookie site attempts from one ad) seized up my browser and system. I had to power-off with the power switch to stop it. I just got a PM from one of my members complaining that he's getting attempted virus download warnings.

It's clear that at least once of the sponsor ads is the cause of this.

Angry Re: ad causes virus pop up

It sounds like we have 2 choices (other than doing nothing). Either request google based ads [which requires them going through your forum] or getting fbucks to make your forum ad free like she described. You can transfer either 500, 1000, 5000, 10000, or 50000 f$ to your forum at a time from your fhq account. Thats what I did for the time being. Transferring f$s costs you f$1. BTW it was this ad that downloaded the viruses. I suppose if you or your members get that ad hit refresh immediately.

In my opinion ads shouldn't have viruses in them.

We are this company's customers & they are making money off of us through advertisements so you think that they would make it safe for us & our members. This isn't good for their reputation. That ad should be removed!!! Consider this an official complaint from an unhappy customer.

Since you've identified the offending ad, I would like to think that Forumer will take actions against them. At the very least, discontinuing the ad.

I'm not the only one that has & yes you think that they would. I suppose that we will have to see. If viruses come from their ad I sure don't want to know what's on their site.
