Hi,

I was reading the documentation, and I read how to add rank images: http://forum.forumer.com/showthread.php?t=16041

I was wondering if there was an easier way to do this. I want to created many different ranks based on posts for users, and each level to have a rank image, similar to pips on IPB. Is there an easier way than making 20 dummy accounts and setting up their avatar as the pip image?

Host your images on an arbitrary server (I use ImageShack.us) and use the addresses of the images (like http://server.com/rank-x.gif) despite the message "relative to phpBB root" (or something like that). Although you won't see the images in the ACP, they will be desplayed properly in the actual forum.

What I did was save all my rank images on my desktop, then uploaded them into an image hoster. I used the free, and pretty good one called Photobucket @ www.photobucket.com and I uploaded all my images into there, in a folder for rank images. I then resized them all with that Photobucket too, and made them pretty small, so they arent bulky looking with the avatars already there. Then you just go to your rank in the mod mode, and copy link one from photobucket to the image link at your mod mode rank section, and do them each individually. I have about 40 ranks, up to 10 000, and havent had a problem ever.

Yea, thanks. I just thought that it had to be using the phpbb root path.
