Is there anyway to change my forum from php to IPB I think I would like to have the extra admin options.

Hello,

Unfortunately, you cannot switch from phpBB to IPB, and vice versa.

If you wish to register a new forum, you must use a new email address and access name.

is there anyway to shutdown my php forum? my email is the admin email for my webiste and would like to keep it the same if i could

You may shut down your forum by going to your Admin CP > General Admin > Configuration > Enable Board > No > Submit > Wait for 90 days and your forum will be deleted.

Even though your forum will get deleted, the email address and access are still in the database and are irremovable, sorry.

I suggest we can have a DEMO forums of both phpBB & IBP so members who want to create a new forum can test it & then decide which one suits them most.

What do you mean by test forums?

Like vBulletin where you click a button, and you automatically get a demo forum with login details?

Yes something like this http://www.vbulletin.com/admindemo.php

or if thats not possible then create 2 identical forum with dummy content phpbb & IPB & let the users see the demo.

Its better to have a comparison list of feature of both that would help members to decide & MARK a note in bold letters that switching forums later is not possible so decide carefully.

There are so many members who need some features & later they get to know that other forum have this so they want to switch.
