hey guys after long time waiting finally seems like phpbb3 is out on forumer. I just wanted to ask We are allowed to convert phpbb2 to 3 yet?

If you convert to phpbb 3 from 2, will that lead to data loss on your current forum?

What will be the benefits from haing 3 as opposed to 2?

Limez is currently working on a way to convert so it shouldn't lead to any data loss. That's why the release is taking longer than it did for other hosts, and also we are trying to catch out all bugs before the release.

Basically the phpBB3 is more flexible and more customizable than phpBB2. Obviously everyone will have a choice, you only convert if you want to convert, if you are happy with your forum as it is you can just leave it as it is.

If you reply to this thread in the first post you can find a link where you can make a phpBB3 forum and check it out for yourself how it looks like.......there are a few bugs at the moment but thats because it's still in testing stages.

Hope my answer shed some light on the issues for you, we will make an announcement when we are ready to convert.
