Why dont the [youtube] [/youtube] things work so you can post videos on your post instead of just links?

Don't know if this will help, but we can do it in IPB forums by putting [doHTML] before and [/doHTML] after, however I don't know if it works on PHPbb. It doesn't work on ************ boards, just Forumer IPB (probably others too, but I don't know).

I believe I heard somewhere that mods (modifications) for IPB are starting to come for phpBB. Maybe you can go search for it.

I also might have heard there is another way to do it... but I forgot what it was. Search around the forum, or take a glance at the documentary.

I have seen it on phpBB, but not on a free site. The dude who owns it writes his own codes and stuff. It's possible.

IPB is much better. More flexible, and you can tweak just about ANYTHING on ur board. If you want more than just a basic board for posting, u should get an IPB.

Actually you can embed videos. I have before on my site. You must do the following:

Make sure you forum allows HTML.

Then check the HTML Tags in your configuration page under General Admin in the Admin CP.

Under Allowed Tags I have:

b,i,u,pre,img,CENTER,TD,TR,TABLE,P,FONT,BR,a,span,h2,iframe,object,param,embed
This allows you to "embed objects" and also allows you to use Flash on your forums which I was told you never could do.

Once you make the above adjustments, all you have to do is copy the embed link on YouTube and you video will display in your post.

Here is an example of a You Tube Embed link:

Edit: ok nvm, you just paste it in there, thank you so much! i was about to consider starting an IPB forum just to post videos like that but you just saved me a ton of work and my forum!

I need some help. I made the changes you posted and when i preview the post the video is embeded. When I submit the post it just shows the code. Any suggestions on how to fix it?
