How do you stop automatic smilies? For example, someone types the word "mad" and instead they get a mad smilie.

Usually smilies are defined rather as ":mad:" than "mad". This prevents the word "mad" from being replaced with an image.

There are 3 places where you can disable smilies:
  • for the whole board: ACP => General Admin => Configuration => Allow Smilies => No
  • for a user (Profile => Preferences => Always enable Smilies => No)
  • for the current post ("Disable Smilies in this post" tick box below the edit box)

My forum is subblack, and for some reason all of a sudden, I cant add new smilies. It keeps sayin, invaild filename, type or size. Anyone know why?

yes my forum does the same thing no matter what i do i can't add or change my current smilies

The only way i could add it is upload of my pc
