Question Adding ranks other than [Admin] or [Mod]

I am sorry if this is a repeat, but I have been searching for over and hour now and to no avail... I am relatively new to running a forum and I use it for multi-game clan communication. One of my friends has the option to create a new rank that shows up at the bottom of the forum along side [Admin] and [Mod] and can set their premissions like I can do with the UserGroups option, but I want to have it show up as a specific rank like [Mod] or [Admin]. But, he has a different forum host and a rather different set up for his Admin CP functions. So my question is: Is it possible to create new ranks and set their permissions such as he has, and: If it is, how do I go about doing it? Again I am sorry if this was already answered, but I searched fo a long time. If you could answer me, or point me in the right direction with a link, I would greatly appreciate it. Thankyou

Default Re: Adding ranks other than [Admin] or [Mod]

There isn't a way to add more text next to [administrator] and [moderator] and it is not possible to change the color of users in the online list either.

However, here is a work-around I made earlier. It does not give what you ask for, but it is a good substitute:
----------------
There is a way you can display "Member Legends" (that is the name for it). You can create a forum (call it "Member Legend" or something) and put this in the forum description:
Quote:
[<a href="GroupURL"><span style='color:YOUR COLOR'>YOUR GROUP</span></a>]
Green: The URL to the group (can be found by clicking on "Usergroups" and choosing the group you want, copy the address found in the address bar at the very top of your browser and putting it instead of GroupURL
Red: The HEX number for your color. The different HEX numbers for colors can be found here. A hex number for a color is #XXXXXX where XXXXXX is a six character number. (Don't forget the "#")
Blue: The name of that group

To add more groups to the member legend, repeat the above steps adding the code once again

Quote:
[<a href="GroupURL"><span style='color:YOUR COLOR'>YOUR GROUP</span></a>]
but with diffrent colors, GroupURL and name.

Let me know if there is anything you don't understand
