Exclamation Change Forum URL?
Is there any way I can get my forum URL changed? The current one is http://theadvofbandl.14.forumer.com. I'd like to get it changed to something easier like instead of theadvofbandl just bandl. Is that possible? Thank you.

If you want to use the free URL, the only way to change it is to start up a new forum.

The other option is to buy a URL from Domain Explorer (which is a Forumer company) for US$12 a year. That way you can keep your current forum and have the domain you really want.

Eek! That is so not cool!!! Oh right, sorry. Thanks. Is there any easy way to.. get my forum stuff onto another forum?

As to: make another forum exactly the same...

EXCEPT! For the URL...

You can not change the default forumer url but you can have a another url that will point to your forum.

If you want to start over then you would have to copy/paste everyting manually. I'm sorry but this is the way it is.

Those free URL redirections are great but the only problem is that you won't see the different URLs when you click a topic. You'll only see http://yourforum.cjb.net/ etc for every link you click. It's basically just URL masking.

Hello,
Please give me a moment to answer your question. When you subscribe to any of these URL redirects, they give you an option wheather you want a tool called "Sub Domain Cloaking". This means if you switch on cloaking, your url in the address bar will remain ever. But if you switch this off, as soon as you enter .co.nr or .cjb.net sub domain, it'll take you to the orignal URL & the orignal URL of the forum will be displayed. This means that the SubDomain will work only as a tool so that the users dont have to memorise the whole forum.#.forumer[dot]com address & can come to the forum easily by this virtual subdomain. But, the users will see the dafault forum.#.forumer[dot]com url as soon as the page loads.
