Password Protected Forums

Is there any way i can put a password on a certain part of my forum for only the users who have it can access it if so how do i do it

no not at this stage, but you can make on private by going into forum permissions then selecting the forum and then put all the options to private then click ok.

now to the second part, create a new user group, then go to group permissions and then give then access to the private forum, then your done

I would recommend you do is this:

Make a usergroup for your private members (i.e. "Members" or "Confirmed Members"). Have the members you want request access to that usergroup then confirm them (if they are, in fact, members). Then, whichever forums you want to be protected, set the forum admin permissions to private (at least on the view/read/post/reply sections). You can also just do the simple mode private or private (hidden). Then, go to the group admin permissions and set it to "allowed access" on the forum you want them to have access to.

Now, anyone in the usergroup you created will be able to access those forums, but if they aren't in the group, then they cannot get in.
