Default BBCode and HTML question

Just recently I post a countdown ticker on the front page of my forum.

Using the BBCode that is provided by the ticker web site I posted it in the description section of the new forum....as you do. What was interesting is that it didn't accept it. I used the HTML code and it worked.

I checked my settings to make sure I didn't enable HTML and I haven't.

Why would the front page accept HTML but not BBCode?

The front page does not accept BBCode. Whether you enable HTML or not, the front page ie. your index.php and portal.php will accept only HTML and not BBCode.
