Default Google robots scanning forums

Majicman, I am sorry to continue the topic about the 'IP-Urgent'. You, due to your young age (this is just the fact, sorry, but this seems to have effect on your approach) you may be still don't realise the full resposibility for such things, but I need the answer of the admin, who has the clear idea of what's going on.

Please don't lock the topic not having provided me with the proper answer. I don't need the formal reply.

You have no right to say that "The googlebot is a guest...It simply scans it... No big deal".

We haven't invited any guests in our forum. We don't need them.

This concerns the rights of the mature people. This robot, due to the agreement done between Forumer and Google, started to scan our private messages. Please note, our private messages - not even the hidden topics.

I observe this robot constantly "viewing the private messages", and I need the clarification of the qualified administrator. Only. It is my right.

And the opinion of the teenager like you (though you are quite helpful for the forum - thanks) isn't satisfying.

Locking the topic with such serious matter can only create the bad reputation for FORUMER. Neither me nor others (including Forumer itself) are interested in that. Everybody has invested something in this forumer activities. We need to find out the truth and what to do with that.

When people accept communities with the Google stuff already installed - that's one matter. But I came to Forumer when there was nothing like spying-scanning robots. It started after I opened my forum (without notifying me about such things) and the people trusting me write private things whithout any suspect that this is being done to them now every day. Someting breaks their privacy, and I need the answer how to avoid such things.

That's why it is better to solve the matter in the proper serious manner not escaping from the discussion.

Thanks

We do respect that your forum is a private place, and that's fine by Forumer and Google. When a Googlebot is shown as 'Viewing private messages', that simply means that it is having its access denied to that area. When you go to the PM Inbox URL on your board and are not logged in, it will give you an 'access denied' message but show you as 'Viewing Private Messages' in the online list. Since a bot can't register, there is no way for them to use the PM system. They definitely can't access users' accounts, and that would be the only way for them to view any private messages anyway. The bottom line, really, is simply that Googlebots cannot read or post anything on Google.com that can normally only be viewed by certain members or the members usergroup. If you are still not satisfied with this response, please post explaining what else you would like to hear. I'd be glad to answer.

In addition, in Majicman's defense, I have to say that age doesn't matter in this case. Moderators are promoted by the administrator because he believes they know their stuff and can answer any question. I was promoted that way, Majicman was promoted that way, and every single other staff member was promoted just the same. The administrator does not have time to answer every question on here, that's why the staff are existent. I hope you understand.

NOTE TO OTHER MEMBERS: Please do not post in this topic.

May I ask what agreement you are speaking of between Forumer and Google? There wasn't one. Google robots scan almost all webpages that have a high traffic count. No "Google Stuff" is ever installed, anywhere. I may be young, but I know what I am talking about and don't appreciate being called immature or any other words you may have for me.

If you would like to read more on the google privacy policy, please see:
http://www.google.com/privacy.html

Now, does this satisfy you? Because I would appreciate if you would step down from your high pedastool and maybe read what I am actually saying. I'm going to let Isolice take over this topic because I think thats what would be best for you.

The Google robot started roaming around the Forumer communities on Friday - after the Google ads installed. Every closed community experiences that now, forumers keep asking about this snooping guest.

It just seems that there is no connection. I had to make some inquiries regarding this matter with people engaged in secutiry stuff. The answer about the Google activities was not satisfying at all.

I am not interested to provoke any problems in this forum. It is ridiculous to be involved in such odd sarcastic discussions.

Anyway the matter had to be revealed to my forum members.

The decision has been taken - to move.

We have already set up a new forum in another place and are moving.

As soon as some required data is transfered we will deactivate our present forum.

The matter has not been thought over carefully by Forumer. And this situation harms my forum members.

The cooperation has been nice, thank you.

See, you aren't readng what we are saying. No privacy is being infringed. It would be the same as me, as a guest browsing your forum. It didn't just start with the google ads. Google bots have been scanning Forumer's forums as well as thousands of other webpages a day for a long time now.

You said you are moving from our network? Goodbye then.
