I just have a question with a small problem that I have been having for a little while now. Everytime I go into my admin panel and try to make a change to my site, regardless of what it is, I have to make one change, then close my browser and restart the browser to make another change on my admin panle. Why is it doing this. I have tried from three different pc's and it only does it on this one. Is there a setting that I need to change?

Thanx,
D.J.

Here is my link. I was on my wife's pc and I was able to do everything just fine. I even did a format, (not related to this), and I still have the same problem.

Since you said the problem only occurs on one computer, it is obviously a problem with your computer, not the Admin CP. Have you tried clearing your cookies and cache? What browser are you using? Also, you mentioned that you have to close the browser and reopen it to make another change in the ACP, why do you think it is doing this; why can't you make another change without closing the browser - what happens?

Say for example, I wanted to change something in my site management. If i had a category (A) and 5 forums in it (1,2,3,4,5) and I wanted number 5 to be where number 1 is, I would click on the move up link next to number 5. It will only allow me to make one change. So I can move 5 above 4, close my Internet explorer 6, open it up again and go back into control panel, forum admin, then move 5 up above three, and so on. I understand that this is something on my pc, but what would make it do that. Could it be a setting in my IE6 or something? I just completely formatted my hard drive last night. My cookies and cache should be fresh as new. It was still doing it today.

I just cleared my cookies and cache again, and it is still doing it. This is really irritating. It takes me forever to make any changes to my site.

Yeah, it could be a setting in your IE6.

Check the following:
>>Tools
>>Internet Options
>>Privacy
>>Set the slider to "Medium" or "Medium High"

Now, if that doesn't work, add your forum to your list of trusted sites by doing the following:
>>Tools
>>Internet Options
>>Security
>>Trusted Sites
>>Click the "Sites" button.
>>Add your forum to the list

Then go to:
>>Tools
>>Internet Options
>>Privacy
>>Sites
>>Type your forum
>>Hit, "Allow"

See if this helps.

What happens if you don't restart the browser after moving 5?

say i moved 5 the first time, it refreshes the screen and shows you the modification. After that I can click to move five all i want, but it is doesnt move it. it leaves it there. the screen refreshes like it did move it, but when it refreshes, 5 is still where it was.

If I wanted to add a new category or forum, I can only do one at a time before restarting my browser. When I add a new category, the screen says
return to admin index
return to forum index
preview site

Once I see that, that is all it will let me see before restarting my browser.

This doesn't make any sense at all. Unfortnately, I'm lost for answers. If you'd like, you could PM me your admin username/password, and tell me a foum that I can move, and I will see if this happens on my computer.

Well, I figured out the garbage that I was having with my website. I downloaded and installed Firefox browser, and it pretty much seemed to take care of everything. I tried it again with IE6 just to see what would happen and my whole computer crashed. I eventually had to do a format and reinstall. After all that it still did it.
I got tired of it so I did a format again and reinstalled again. This time everything works just fine and I have no problems. After all of that, I found out my wife had a virus on her pc, and linked to my pc through the network. That was why it was crapping up on me. Just wanted to post this and give everyone and update. Thanx for all your help and I'm sorry I had to get you guys to do that.
