Yes I have found it & understood that chat is possible w/ phpbb. As for websites I already have one at bravenet. You can install chat for free. But the question now is how can I incorporate it w/ my forum site? Please help me?

Edit: could someone explain this to me further:

"Actually, I'm pretty sure it is possible.

Take your Chat Room Code, and make a new locked forum. For the forum description, enter in the code. It should work."

You can't directly incorporate a chatroom on your forum. The only way to do it is how Majicman describe it in the thread linked above.

You have so signup for a free chatroom - use the code they give you, create a new locked forum/category and place the code there.

I took some actions w/ the everywherchat & could you explain this to me, & teach me how to deal w/ it:

! The Code below should be pasted on one line. If the javascript is broken up just remove the spaces.!

<!-- Begin Chat Code Here -->

<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript"src="http://irc.everywherechat.com:8000/Java/e.js?room=Free_Topics&width=520&ads=false&height=500&roomstab=true&fontsize=12&paramfilename=embedded.prm"></script>

<!-- End Chat Code -->

Additional Information:
You can link directly to your chat room by using http://irc.everywherechat.com:8000/?...e=embedded.prm

To display the number of user in your chat room use this code below:
<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript"src="http://www.everywherechat.com/users.asp?room=Free_Topics"></script>

To display a list of users in your chat room use this code:
<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript"src="http://www.everywherechat.com/members.asp?room=Free_Topics"></script>

Instructions: After you have copied the code to your site follow the instrutions below to register your chat room

Load the webpage that you pasted your chat room code on.
Sign on to the chat room with a nickname you want to use ( some names may be taken)
After loading your chat room, double click on your name in the right list to register it.
Now that your name is registered you can click the room option button located in the top left of chat chat interface to register your room
Your room is now registered, use the room option button to add moderators or change settings.

Your members can also access your chat room with any IRC client ( mIRC, pIRC, ircZ, Ircle etc.) The server address is irc.everywherechat.com port 7000 or 6667

It's really simple - just make a new forum under your chosen category (where you want the chatroom to appear), and enter the code they gave you in the description.

If you need help doing this, I could help you. I also had everywherechat on my forum but I removed it because I liked a shoutbox better (no loggin in etc). Just PM me if you want me to do it

But if you want to do it yourself, it's not that hard. Go to admin CP, go to the place where you can make new forums, and make a new forum. Now select the option 'lock forum' and post the code you posted under 'description'. Click submit and you're ready

harper1984, see that code you posted? Use that code for a Forum description and your chat room will show up.

It looks like you have put your chatroom there sucessfully as I can see where it appears (it asks to install software, so unless your members install it they can't use it).

There seems to be a small issue with the content inside the Chat Room box. Make sure you copied the code correctly and fully.

Your members will need JAVA which can be found here: http://www.java.com/en/download/download_the_latest.jsp
