yep it can be done. you should be a moderator of the forum that the topic exist. go to the topic that you wish to lock. scroll down the page and you will see in the lower left portion of the page. you will see a icon lock there. click it an you will be *******d about locking a topic. just click yes. and 'viola' you have locked a topic

Thanks, soooo weird in comparison to IPB, I'm used to all my moderation options being in one place.

you find it weird because IPB and phpBB are 2 totally different BB programs.
