Several friends were unable to register to the forum.
I checked Configuration and saw that the "Visual confirmation code" option was missing.

Still, registration requires the Code. (?????), and there is no Code spot in registration form !

Ok. I just tried to register and i didnt see a confirmation code. Check you ACP again. Just to make sure.

Option in ACP is gone !
There is no option to enable/disable VCD !

It sounds like his forum has been hacked. Is ANY other just one tiny thing missing? Big or small?

Just to make sure:

1 - Go into the ACP
2 - Go to General Admin
3 - Go to Configuration
4 - look for 'Enable Visual Confirmation'

It should be above 'User email via board' and below 'Enable account activation'.

Please be patient.

Well to me it sounds like someone hacked your forum and then made that be "gone". I am guessing so no one could join. I have worked with phpBB before i'm not dumb.

have you change the style of your board? if yes, change it back to the original. this sometimes happen [i dont know why] maybe because some styles missed out in making the "visual confirmation code" template. someone could correct me if im wrong. but i have encountered this problem already.

Did you try and change the skin back to the default? The skin template could have a error inside it.

Its still missing at the original style.

Make a "test" account and made it "hidden" then make it an admin. If someone has hacked your forum they will try to take your power. This can be used as a back up account in case that happens. Pre-make this account. Dont try to do it from "register".
