Hi,

Whenever the forum home page is opened there is the heading 'Who is Online' there.

So it is possible to see the newest registerd users.

By clicking on their names their profile is opened - visible without restrictions.

Is it possible to switch this option off or set some restrictions for visitors?

Thanks

Unfortunately, I do not think this is possible. It may, however, be a feature when we upgrade to phpBB 2 once it is released.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want to disable this?

Hello

I really appreciate your promp support.

I want to disable this option because my closed community is for females only. We are all friends, living now in different countries, and we don't want our data (mail addresses, ICQ, etc. be viewed by others).

We need to protect our privacy.

Yahoo! is perfect, but they don't offer table format.

Thank you and best regards

Well, hows about this... remove all of that info from your Profile, and, instead, make a forum that only registered users can see. Then post all your contact information in there.

Also, to help protect only your friends registering, go to:
>>General Admin
>>Configuration
>>Enable account activation
>>Click the little circle next to, "Admin"

Now, when a user registers, they can not log-in until you do this:
In your admin cp, under, "User Admin", go to "Management", then look up the user (friend) waiting to be authorized. Scroll down to the bottom of the users page where it says, "Special admin-only fields" and find, "User is active"

Set that to, "yes"

Please do not hesitate to ask more questions.

Just dont put in your private info. Like Aim, Yim!, MSN, and more. Just have everyone pm your friends. With all the info.

Or do what majicman said. That would also work as a private forum for just you and your old friends.
