Angry Spam Bot Possibilities?!?

Good Morning,

I wanted to throw out an observation that I have noticed and am wondering if there is a coorelation some where.

I have 2 separate forums from Forumer. One is my own personal forum and is located on Server 7.
The other is one that I manage, and is on server 17.

I have registered my personal one(server 7) on this help forum and have requested help with something from time to time.

The other I have NEVER registered here. (If I remember correctly, I am thinking when I first established my forum, it was suggested that I register my forum to allow me to get updated info, help, etc, ...or something similar to that effect.)

Shortly after posting my first request (12/9), I received my first SPAM BOT of SPAM, on my Personal Forum. I deleted it. I had received several more, to the point where I had to change to 'Administrater Only' to activate registration. I still get SPAM BOTS trying to gain access to my personal Forum, but I am now able to catch them at registration time.

The forum that I have Never registered here, and still set up as "member activation" has NEVER Received ONE SPAM BOT. Not One.

It is for this reason why I will not register my other forum here.

Could there be a connection to being registered with Former's main site or help forums???

Could the SPAM BOTS be taking their info from these Databases here????

I don't know if there is a connection or not, but it might be worth looking into. I just find it odd that these two forums were established around the same time with Forumer, But only the one that I've registered here for assistance has ever received SPAM BOTS.

Any thoughts on this??

~ZZ

That happened a lot on a forum thing I used to got to. They would post ads all over it. There names would be like Rebecca, John, Josh, Kristie, etc. But then they got a guest blocker and they left
