Exclamation Our "lost threads" just invisible on index?

Hiya,

I remember several admins reported threads disappeared from their forums. It was noticed after the technicians' maintenance work to secure the servers. I think the following will be interesting for all admins, and hopefully helpful for the staff of Forumer:

As I noticed two threads were gone, I started a search on my forum. Actually I've found them! They were not deleted through the maintenance works. But they are not listed on the index anymore, so no member will ever be able to find, read, reply to them.
I then tried out the following: replying on the "lost" thread; moving the thread!

Moving didn't help. But on one of the threads it worked with the reply. That thread is back on the index!
For the other thread it unfortunately didn't work, but at least I was able to open a new thread and quote (past/copy) the replies of the members.

Could Forumer fix the bug for everyone (I think servers 6 and 7 are concerned) or is there no chance to fix it?

Heidi

The opening post is gone, the first reply is of 13 April 2006; last post is of 15 February 2007.
You won't find this thread on the index of "Stephen Chow Movies" anymore, so it looks as though it's been deleted.

make sure your controls are set to 'view all threads' or 'from the beginning' not 'the last 30 days' this may be why you are having this problem.

No, this doesn't solve the problem. I have never changed any settings; and I've never noticed this is possible on the phpbb control panel.
But the point is, it is just a few threads that aren't on the index anymore. There's many more threads that are older than 30 days and they are shown.
I remember there were so many other admins reporting that - once the servers were secured - several threads disappeared.

Anyone ??

I really wished this issue would be brought to Limez's attention! There's another thread missing on my board and I'm sure if I search I find more threads to be missing.
You sure remember there's other admins who reported threads have been "deleted" plus member accounts have been deleted.

Like the other issues (guests are not counted anymore, guests cannot post, no topics exist for the thread), this problem exists since the downtime during server-securing. That is why it really should be brought to Limez attention, I mean ALL issues and problems that have occured. Otherwise the same could happen again next time. I think Limez would be glad to be *******d on what's going on. Maybe he even can fix it somehow.
