When I receive a new private message, I get the email telling me that one has arrived, but when I click the link it takes me to this page

http://forumer.com/error.php

This is a copy of the mail I get:

------------------------

Hello Brian,

You have received a new private message to your account on "alienpanda" and you have requested that you be notified on this event. You can view your new message by clicking on the following link:

http://7.forumer.com/privmsg.php?folder=inbox

Remember that you can always choose not to be notified of new messages by changing the appropriate setting in your profile.

This is a known problem. There are a lot of posts about this one. Links in the email do not work because the link does not contain the first part of your board - the name. The link should be

http://alienpanda.7.forumer.com/priv...p?folder=inbox

Instead of this:

http://7.forumer.com/privmsg.php?folder=inbox

This is a problem that they are working on. Until it's fixed I would just suggest to turn that option off and just have a pop-up window show when you log into your forum to let you know.

Hi

Do you know how I can turn the option off for all members, as I think you can only do it by going into each members profile individually and turning it off.

Yes, you can disable PMs altogether. Go to Admin CP > General Admin > Configuration, find 'Private Messaging' and select Disabled.
