I did a search and found someone else had this same problem, but no solution was described before it was closed, so please excuse the repeat post...

When my members receive an email alerting them of a private message, the direct link to their inbox does not work... instead it goes to an error page.

My forum is here: IRBB

I've noticed in my Admin settings that the domain name is 7.forumer.com, is that the problem? Should the "admin2." be included in that box as well?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I have this same problem ans posted about it recently. No one really gave an answer besides they are working on it so I accepted that. I guess there are still some bugs that need to be worked out. I believe because the "admin2" is not before the 7.forumer.com it is not taking users to their inbox and when you try to change that in the ACP it stays the same.

Hello,

yes there are still some issues going on with the phpBB boards. All we can really say is give it some time.

Thanks.

EXACTLY. Just add your forum name and a period in front of the "7" and the links WILL work.

I just received an e-mail today about a PM and the link took me to the 404 error page. I read this post and took the advice of putting the forum name in front of the 7.forumer.com in the Domain area. I did that and clicked "submit" but it's not saving in my configuration. I did it a couple more times and it still won't "save". If needed here is my url http://motn.7.forumer.com/index.php Just curious is that also a bug that some things won't save in configurations?

To save configuration settings, you shouldn't need an e-mail sent to you, and, actually, one shouldn't be sent to you.

Okay...I'm sorry. I apologize for confusing you so badly. I'm editing my previous post, hopefully someone will see this. I am going to try and explain in a more understanding matter lol I hope.

Well I have it set up so I get an e-mail if I get a private message on my board. The link for the PM Inbox on the email, does not work. This is the link that shows on my email

http://7.forumer.com/privmsg.php?folder=inbox

Instead it takes me to the404 Error Page here.

From my understanding what Jake & you had posted, was to put the "name of the forum" in front of the 7.forumer.com, in the configuration in the admin area. Which for my board it would be motn.7.forumer.com Anyway, when I put the name of my board if front of that & clicked the submit button, it didn't save that way. What I'm trying to explain is that I did what you both suggested it didn't work.

So I'm just wondering is there another way to fix the link so when someone gets a notice in their email about a private message it will take them to their inbox instead of getting the 404 error page? lol I'm laughing to myself thinking I'm going to confuse people even more.

when a poster is notify'ed, the link doesn't work. just contain http://6.forumer.com etc

i tried to change the domain name in the general configuration and added bricklayers. at the front of it.

But when i submit and re-open the bricklayers is gone. wierd, because other changes in my general configurations will be saved.

The linjks veing sent out via e-mail are still full of bugs. We are working very hard to fix this.

For now, just have your members add "bricklayers." after the "http://" in the links that are sent to them. then, the links will work.

Same problem here.

Was just wondering if the forum name should be entered into the "Script path" instead of the "domain name"
All that's in the script path now is a /
Would this work or would I just screw everything up ?
