I know its another banner thread but I have searched the best I can to find my problem with no luck.

Stuck with fixing a gap that appears aboxe whatever image I use as a banner. No matter how big or small the image is the gap stays the same. Below is an image of what I mean.

(made a temporary banner with a wonky colour to make the space clear)

I suppose I'm either looking for a way to center the image vertically (still would leave a smaller gap top and bottom) or to make the header box fit the image exactly.

Running a ipb board using the orange dreams skin.

Oh, whoops... sorry. New rules and stuff since I was last here.

(board is off right now but the problem is clearly visable - if it needs to be turned on let me know)

It is most likely because your logostrip is a certain size, and your banner is smaller than that. You could always increase the size of your banner.

It just seems to add the same gap above whatever banner I put there, big or small. I've added more height to the banner to show this - the space is just the same. Is it possible to resize the logostrip?

where it says:

try taking out the <div id='logostrip'>

Ah, sorry about not setting up the admin thing. You know what they say about all that.

Might be on to something though - my banner code is pretty messy looking (i don't know much about this at all)

Have copied from  down. (I tried changing little bits and something was happening but I'm not sure what)

well I kow what u mean I just meant it would be eisier for me to see all your code to maybe determine whats going on. But from whatr I can see your coding looks fine but delete the part that says <div id='logostrip'> and it should work

lol, never... EVER give anyone admin access to your board.

even if it seems harmless.

btw, see where is says <p align="center">.. try taking that out. it could be setting a 'paragraph break' in the code. just use the old fashioned <center></center> tags around the image.

i told him to remove the <div id='logostrip'> because its retarded looking unless it u put the border on your css at 0 and make it the same color as the board background

Ah, I understand a bit of copying and pasting. It's going all funny when I put in what EvilCorporateWhore said - I've tried it over everything from  down and a couple of variations leaving some of the stuff at the bottom (eg the  etc bit)

I could maybe work it out if i took it slowly but if someone cleverer (and less tired) than me could post the exact code to paste from  down I'd really appreciate it. If that's what has already been posted then I'm afraid it just jumbles everything up bigtime.
