Thumbs up Install your own skin. (Tutorial)

I know this is not the right category, but I can't post in the other categories. Mods, please change the category.

Here is a way so that you can add your own skin that ou downloaded.

So if you downloaded a skin pack, and wanted to use it, then do the following.

I am taking the example of a skin called Ambience released by Extremepixels.

This has only been tested on Forumhoster.

1. First, you need an image host. I would recomend get a free web host that provides atleast 10 mb of space and has FTP access.

2. Upload all the images from the skin pack.

3. Go to you skin folder on your computer and open macro.

4. There you will find many links for the images. Then go to find and search for style_images/<#IMG_DIR#> and replace with the URL of the images which you uploaded with out the file name and without a trailing slash. Click replace all.

5. Repeat the same replacement procedure for the other files.

6. Then go to your ACP > Skin & Templates > Board Wrappers. Go to Choose a wrapper file from your computer to import and browse for your Wrapper in the skin folder. Upload it. Rename the uploaded file to Ambience (in my case)

7. Then go to ACP > Skin & Templates > HTML Templates. Upload it the same way and rename the Template.

8. Go to ACP > Skin & Templates > Stylesheets. Upload the stylesheet.css file and rename.

9. Go to ACP > Skin & Templates > Macros. Upload the macros file and rename.

10. Then go to Manage Skin sets. Click create new skin set. Enter the title. Change the Templates, Sytle sheet, Macro, Wrapper to Ambience. Leave the Image directory.

11. Click create skin.

12. Go to your CP and Change the skin to ambience.

13. See how the skin looks

I don't think the Board Wrapper function is available on Forumer.com IPB forums.
