Ok, I uploaded my group icons from my computer to the emoticon file. Their file names are:
  • admin1
  • moderator1
  • elitemember1
These are your instructions:

Admin CP -> Users and Groups -> Manage User Groups and click on the Edit Group link for which ever group you wish to give a team icon too. Now under the heading Global Settings find the following option:

Ok...now the urls for these images is what is confusing to me. I have these urls where they are located in my photo shop but it isn't on my computer hard driveThe file names on my computer and the emoticon file are:

  • admin1
  • moderator1
  • elitemember1
Would you write the "exact" code that I need to enter, please. I have tried every combination that I know to do. I don't know for instance what precedes.../emoticons/BoardName/Image URL. And I can't determine what URL you are talking about.

This is exactly what I input and it did not work.

../emoticons/fatmansworld/admin1.jpg

does anything precede ../emoticons?

did u upload them to your emoticons with those filenames?

Yes I did. In fact, I copied them from the emoticon file and pasted them directly into the input box to make sure there were no errors. These are the instructions from my other IPB board which work perfectly. The only difference is that there is an image file present and available to the board:

Group Icon
Just enter the filename based on http://my.hostserver.com/up -
This means if your icon is called gicon12.gif and is located at my.hostserver.com/up/gicon.gif,
then just enter gicon.gif.

This has always worked for me, however, like I said, there is a dedicated image file in addition to the emoticon file.
