Hi, thanks for taking the time to read this and help out!

So, I've started a new forum that is specific to a sport. I have a few questions:

1. Is it possible to add custom fields to the member profile information that will then show up under the member AV when they post, for example:

field = "favorite players"

2. How can I add the code to allow my members to use text alignment in their posts and signatures (centering text in a post for example).

3. Is there a way to show an 'on-line' or 'off-line' status under the AV of a member in their posts? Some members have been requesting this of me having seen it in other forums.

I've figured out number 2 and number 3 above, now still need help with the first question though. Also, the fmod I found for 2 and 3 are a bit clunky looking, so if anyone knows of a better 'fix', let me know please. To see our forum if you are curious:

I just realized that I am on server 2, or should be, and posted this as server 1. How can I change that???

Also, I have a new question: How do I know what version of IPB this is, and can it be updated.

Finally, the last question, I hope.... can we use non-forumer skins from other sources for our forum?

Hi, I have changed your prefix.

You can not add custom profiles without a modification, guess you need to get back to fMods for that one

Our IPB forums are version 1.3.1 final and will not be upgraded, as all above versions are payed.

You can try adding skins from other sources, but they might not be compatible with Forumer forums.... you can give it a try though
There are also many cool skins in fMods (made for Forumer forums), so make sure you have a look there.

Thanks very much for your answers. One last thing: From reading around the support pages, am I correct in thinking there is never ever a way of getting a backup of my forum's database in any situation at all... no matter what?

Forumer does not release the database..

Thanks, just wanted to be sure. We're starting a forum that will have thousands of members who were just burned by a forum closing down abruptly after several years, so I need to be up front with them about this. If things were to ever go wrong at forumer, we'd lose everything again... just want to be sure we know what we're getting into.

Where would I ask questions about setting up a portal using the IPDynamic Lite enable option? I tried using it, but didn't see a difference on my board. Is that because the skin I'm using doesn't support it, or is it simply that I did something wrong? Details that might help you answer this:

1) domain parked at godaddy and points to forum on forumer.
2) i'm very new to this ADMIN stuff on forums, so I'm trying to learn quickly, maybe I missed an obvious step.

If anything went wrong with Forumer that would be a different matter, and I am sure that in that case the database would be made available (maybe for a fee...), but if you just want to leave for whatever reason while Forumer is still up and running then we do not release it.
