Default The FAP Account.

FAP

Q: What is FAP?

A: FAP denotes Forumer Admin Panel.
One of the functions of FAP is to restore your administrator status incase something happens to it. For example, should you get demoted by mistake or your account gets compromised.

Using FAP to restore administrator rights should be the last resort though, you still should take precautions to protect your admin account, and your forum.

Ways to protect yourself are:

1) Make a spare admin account which you will not use for posting, but you will have it in case something happens to the main one.

2) Never experiment with your admin account! If you need to try out some other member group settings, make a test account which you will place to these groups and then you can see the setup.

3) Never make other people who you don't know well (and trust), "Root" admin. You can make other admins, but create a different group for them, they don't need all the privileges you have.

4) Finally, NEVER give out your password, and make it strong (harder to crack)
A strong password has at least 8 characters (or more), uses capital and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters *&^%$Ģ" etc.

Q: How do I use FAP to restore my admin status?

A: Click on the FAP link.
You will see different headings, click on the "My Forums" link

Insert the unique security code of your forum (the one you got in the email you received when you first made your forum) to the "Add Forum" part then click on "Verify Code & Add Forum" button.
The forum will appear in the list of your forums (if you have more than 1 forum, you can add them all to the same fHQ account)

You can make any of those members admin by clicking the "Make Admin" link, that member will now be an admin, and his/her password will be reset.
You will receive the login details (user name and password) in an email, to the email address you have registered here on fHQ (so ensure that your email on your fHQ account is up to date before you use FAP to make an admin).
Every time you want to make an admin, you will have to insert the security code of the forum again (this is for increased security just in case your fHQ account would get compromised so no-one else would be able to make admins on your forum).

To edit your forum:
if it is IPB click on the "Admin CP" link which is on the top of your forum next to your user name under the banner.
If it is phpBB2 or phpBB3 click on the "Go to Administration Panel" link which is on the bottom of the index page.

Q: How do I use FAP to send fBuck$ to my forum?

A: Click on the "MY fBUCK$" link, and you will be able to send fBuck$ from your fHQ account to your forum.

You will see:

Choose an amount from the drop down menu then insert your forumname only your (http://forumname.##.forumer.com) and click on the "Transfer" button.

As you will notice, the amount displayed in the balance will be the actual available balance you have, not the Total fBucks.

fBucks you have in the bank cannot be transferred and will not show on the balance, you will first have to enter the Bank, and withdraw the fBucks before transferring them to your forum.
