Hi I'm also new here but I just wanted to add.....our forum is also on server 1 ([REMOVED]) and even though today it was running fast all day, it has been slow very often the past few weeks.
I have been getting all sorts of messages, from too many connections, to the time out and please try again.(interestingly it has been slow during the day and most of the time it got better during the night)
At the time it was the slowest it was even impossible to log onto this forum...... even here I was getting the same messages.

getting all sorts of errors. to many connection then something about user XXXX its confusing the hell out of me. im an idiot so have no idea wat i am doing!!!

I lose more local members because of, "Too many connections" than anything else. They have other choices then my board in this area and when they can't connect or even worse when they are about to post and then get, "Too many connections", they start looking for a more stable board then what Forumer has to offer.

It's a consistent problem that I fear will never be satisfactorily addressed any time soon if ever.

my board was so slow all day today that hardly anybody could even post, & every time i tried to come here to see what was up, i got this error...



if y'all can't even keep your own board running, i don't know how you're gonna help me with mine.

I just checked it was fine.

It is on and off for me, sometimes is really slow and impossible to get on at all, and sometimes fast enough. When the slowest I can't even get on this forum and get the same message as biff just posted......... as I mentioned before.

But what worries me more is that I'm still getting the database error when I try to open a post............ I mentioned it in the "Forum posts not opening, database error?" thread. Can some one look at it please ??

well, i've only been on for like 30 minutes so far today, & only like 10 of em at the board. it's had it's slow moments, but i'm hopeful...

i think the biggest problem with posting about it when it's actually happening is that when my board is running really bad, i can't get here to post about it, because when mine's bad, yours is completely down.

to be perfectly honest, i've kinda been avoiding even going there, cuz i can't take the frustration, & since it's been so bad lately, hardly anybody has been posting, so there's not really much to reply to.

thanks for replying though. at least i know somebody's actually lookin into it.

i don't want to have to move to a new host, cuz everything i have there would be lost. but i'm working on a new board with a different host for just in case. i'm sorry, but i'm at the end of my rope over this. i don't want to wait until everybody leaves & then start over. they're not saying it, but my members are getting pretty frustrated. they're just kind of trickling away. i've gone from averaging around 100+ posts per day, to like 25. it's a ghost town around there.

i got an email from a long time member the other day asking why i wasn't letting her in. she thought she needed authorization or something. i was all like "no, the board has just been running really bad. we still like you!!!"

Our board has been having similar up and down times. Usually its mid afternoon when the board is very slow to respond. I may have to hit links a few times before they finally load the page. But just like the OP, its at random times.

Limez notified me that the techs have been notified, some kind of software update has been causing this. This should be fixed soon.

ooh, that would be nice, cuz mine is doing the slow thing right now.

if it gets fixed for real, it would be a lot less work for me. i don't wanna have to leave Forumer. i have my fingers crossed...

It may be a few days to fix, because there is a lot of code that needs looking at.
