Default Is there a way to NOT show new registered users
I would like to have our forum not show the newest user until it has been approved by the admin, we are having problems with people logging in just to have derogatory stuff printed at the bottom of our forum

Make the users have to have adminstrator activation.

Admin validation means until you validate the account they won't become a "member", they will still be in the validation group.

To activate admin validation:
Admin CP > System Settings > Security and privacy > Security (Troublesome Users) >
Quote:

Make admin manually preview all new accounts or make new users validate their email address
On the drop down box, select admin validation, then submit changes
