I have recently encountered an error that will not allow me to start new topics. Why is this. This is a screenshot.

Make sure all ur permission masks are set properly. If you have another admin with access to the admin cp, mistakes sometimes happen. Go into "edit" in the Admin permission mask and make sure the boxes for "Start" new topics are checked in every forum. Other than that, IE7 is dodgy. Try firefox :P

Well it should work. Seriously, if you have another browser, see what it does. Try something else though, go into manage forums and go into the forum that you're trying to post in. It might have got changed somehow so that noone can start new topics. Then check ur group setting as well.

If you don't have another browser, firefox takes 5 minutes to download. Then you will still have IE if you don't like it. I use Firefox, Netscape and IE, mainly Firefox. There's no risk

Firefox does have a few bugs, but it's more reliable. It won't show some things and will make html rich pages go crazy sometimes. However, it's much easier for template editing and stuff (it doesn't grab surrounding bits in highlights of stuff ur trying to replace/edit). It's also supposed to be more secure. I don't have a problem with ur forum on Firefox, I wonder why you do?

Did it work though?

Hmmmm... u wanna let someone go and have a look? Like me? I'll understand if you say no, I'd be very nervous about anyone in my ACP. I'd be happy to help, and I wouldn't hurt ur board. It just might help to have someone elses opinion. Let me know.

I have no idea what's wrong. I won't til I have a look, and maybe not even then, but you shouldn't be having that problem. What a pain

. I'll have a look around all the bits and see if they're all set to what they should be. I won't change anything unless I'm certain it's that.
