ok so i just set up my new forum. momentarily there are no posts. a friend cannot post a new topic even if she is a moderator. there is an error message that says she hasn't got permission to start a new topic.

please help!

Try have a look at the forum permissions settings.

Admin CP - Forum Control - Manage Forums, click Permissions.

Check if you've allowed posting, viewing etc.

You can set this when you make your new subforums, at the bottom of the page where you create them.

Please do what birdie has said. It's not a bug it's simple edit that needs to be done via Permission Masks. Marking as Non-bug, thanks for the report.
