ok...so some guy came on my forum today and made a post about how he could log in as the root admin. I didn't think much of it...but I did take the time to change the password for the root admin today...and low and behold I was told by one of my members that the forum had been hacked and he had deleted all my admins (including me) What he posted on MY FORUM is repulsive and there are young people that use it and I don't want them come'n across it

who can I talk to around here to get this rectified and why the hell was he able to do that in the first place????? I changed the root admin password and didn't tell anyone what it was so he did it through another route.

Please help A.S.A.P! thank you.

unfortunately there is probanly nothing we can do. He probably got in by simple brute force.

His work is gross. Next time, dont post a link to that. We dont want to see it.

ya like I wanna f'n see that right??? I posted a link to it to show you the severity of what that prick was doing.
anyway he really screwed my board over now it's offline now and says "hacked by VexD N***er lovers"

reall classy guy that hacked my board. This happened before and Limez helped me...hopefully he can help me again.

Hi MbM,

I apologize for wr3698er73678. Looks like this person (the hacker) did a number on you.

You can still log into your ACP, correct? Unfortunatly, I do not know if ForumHoster provides backups to boards or not. You'll have to wait for official confirmation. However, if ALL of ForumerHoster was hacked, then your boards will be backuped. But, if all fails and Backups are not issued, then there is no hope in getting your forum back.

Hello attitude. Knock Knock... Read the post on that forum (if you bothered). It says the hacker DELETED every admin and ADDED himself. Do you think they can login to the ACP? No.. Also, dont you dare even think about apologizing on my behalf for whatever reason.

enough of that, onto the problem.

Of course all of ForumHosted wasnt hacked. It was only this forum. They were super active. You cant regain your forum. Backups aint gonna help because forumer wont give them out.

this has happened now atleast 3 times...Limez helped me out the past few times...so I'm waiting to see if someone who knows what they are talking about can help me.

I sent Limez a PM about this. Hopefully he'll be able to do something for you and your forum. It's a shame to see this happen to any forum, but more importantly it seems the hacker may have exploited the forum software, in which case it is important for us to figure out how he did it and patch it. While we're waiting on a response from Limez, is there any chance you could provide any more details about the attack?

wr3698er73678, just stay out of this, okay? ForumHoster has been kept seperate from Forumer, so Limez might be able to do something.

Attitude, he dosn't have AdminCP access.

ok here's what I know.....

I checked my forums today right...VexD had joined as a member...he wrote something to the effect of "your forum is completely insecure, I just logged in as the root account, if you want me to help you secure it I've been an admin on other forums...yadda yadda" to which I responded "well this forum has been around for years and we haven't had many problems" then the guy proved his point i guess.....I have no idea how he did it....he claimed to be able to log in as any member. when I read that I changed the root admin pass......later he got in again and apparently used it to post that the forum had been hacked with a repulsive pic then later he came back and put my board offline with a reaaaal pleasant racist remark.

wish I knew more but that's all I know.

I am sorry for your lose =/ It is people like vexD that make the world what it is today... Some how in his no friends life, he felt proud of what he did but in reality (not his matrix world) he messed up someones personal property.. You don't have any enemies do you? maybe you ticked off an old member or something? It does happen =/

I'm looking at his login info and he has his e-mail as admin@forumer.com....?

the question now is......he deleted all of my members (and banned me). When I try to re-register now with the same name it says that someone is already registered with that name.?? anyone now how I can fix that?

i changed his email to 'admin at forumer.com so that he couldn't get access to it. (please reset his password, i forgot to do it.)

oh well I just banned him and deleted his account

he hasn't shown up again. I see he banned all of my members so that when they try to log in they can't...and when they try to re-register it says someone is already use'n their name...is there anything I can do about that? When I look up individual members to unban them, they dont show up on the member list. This guy really screwed me over.
