I'm seeing an increased number of signups in my forum : axn.2.forumer.com
and these are obviously bot sign ups. Surely I'm not the only one seeing this ?
Perhaps you guys can check and kick these bots out of forumer ?

The mail.ru and cachette.com bots, right? Sure, lots of peole get them. The trick is to simply ban email adresses from their domain. That will get rid of those bots right there.

didnt bother to check the email addys. They dont bother me since I've setup email validation for the forums. however if the bots are siging up, then it must be happeing across all the servers right ? that's a sizable amount of bandwith. Stopping those bots at server level will make forumer run faster.

I also had loads of sickos on my forum and they commonly advertise porns, and one time it advertised a viagra....ewww :S

Go to your Admin CP/Users and Groups/Ban Settings and ban the email addresses in there.
eg. to ban cashette.com addresses enter *@cashette.com
and for the other predominant one add *@mail.ru

I banned the cashette one also. I check every ip addy against dns and check to see where it is coming from.

now, the spammers use *@yandex.ru. I don't sure whether this is really a spam or not, but from the member's name he registered, i sure it's a spam.

Yes... I ready ban the email addres *@cashette.comm etc...
but next time the spammer change the mail addres with other.....

I dont know for fix...
but now my forum is slow.....

I banned the @mail.ru and cachette.com. It seemed to stop. I also put my forum at user email validation.
