ok i guess forumer.com has been making changes in the directory organization lately, but i do need help on this.

i had to relink all emoticons to the right directory to get them to work, and ok i did. but i have also noticed that all avatars and images that had been uploaded before, are now gone.

I dont know how to get them back / relink them (if i can?)

I cant specify the uploads directory in my admin cp?

I searched the forum before posting this and read people had problems uploading things, but those topics all seem to be almost a month old, so could the same problem still be around?

you can't upload avatars to your board via ftp....you can't upload skins either...you can upload your smilies as is allowed...please read the FAQ section if you have any other questions/and if you need a place to host your avatars you can use a free image host/then make a thread on your board to post those emoticons on so your m,embers can acess them or with some image hosts you can make that place public accessable.'

hope this all helps and is this resolved?

i was not talking about ftp. but ok let me get this straight - it used to be allowed to upload avatars and images, but then they all got deleted and now we have to host them elsewhere?
great.
i only wish i was told.

I wouldn't consider anything written as spam. A question was asked, it wasn't answered, help is still needed. New person posts with a different problem, a reply was given. Where was the spam? The only thing "wrong" is perhaps the person could have edited the post with something to add, but as a new member it doesn't seem appropriate to discourage them for asking for help.

Please explain if I've misunderstood what's happened here. It doesn't seem very fair.

Susie the rules state"once posted leave it until some one can help you/no bumping your own topic over and over" and the above member keeps bumping instead of waiting for another answer which here is cinsidered "spammin"...my thought here is most of the problems are operator error over all...but the host is looking into this problem and as such not all problems can be fixed in one day.Is that clear enough.
Most fixes for the most common of problems are already here if members would read and review a site search about their problems but most members will not do a site search to try and help themselves/....
This problem is being looked into at this time and a time to have it fixed in undetermined/but if the person would read in the FAQ you can remote host images on a remote image host instead of trying to keep uploading to your board.

well okay i am glad you let me know it is being looked into, maybe if i was told so the first time, i wouldnt have *bumped it* with extra info about the problem, (which was sadly, deleted).

i hope you dont ban me for this, i am really not trying to be malicious in any way.

and once again, i dont have a problem with linking images in the future but with the old ones missing, so faqs about external hosts are not much help to me unfortunately.

and ok, i will not post in here anymore until someone replies again. and trust me, im not posting this in order to bump the topic but really to clarify things.

Old Uploaded Image being deleted....

so what the problem with that, did any of us pay money to get this service... may i remind u that forumer are operating over 5,000 IPBoard up-to-date... just imagine if everyone use at least around 1MB for uploading... it almost around 5GB, go in the net and find out how much it cost to get a 5GB hosting... pruning old image is the normal method for many free service provider...
