Question privacy issue, guests have full access..

Is there any way to turn of the ipb site "archive?" I want some sections of my site off limits to guests (including the member list). Currently, I can't figure out how to do this. It seems like no matter what I do, the entire contents of my forums are available to guests by adding "/a/" to the end of my board's url.

Try it yourself with this board I found.

visit: http://elmazagangi3.4.forumer.com/

Try to view the member list. You'll get the message: "Sorry, but you do not have permission ..." The administrator has changed the settings so that guests cannot view the member list.

Now visit: http://elmazagangi3.4.forumer.com/a/

Scroll down to the very bottom, and click on "Forum Members." You'll find an alphabetical list of all the members and be able to view their profile info.

What is the point of allowing the administrator to prevent guests from viewing the member list, if all the guest has to do is add "/a/" to the end of the url to obtain full access?

By the way, it's not just member info. You can gain access to almost all the forums on any board by using this same method.

I'll bet there are some administrators who think they have restricted areas of there ipb sites. It seems to me that they actually don't.

Try it with a few ipb sites hosted by forumer. And, please clue me in. Why is this possible?

The member list point is true and could very well be a bug, as I have also just tested this out on a few IPB boards hosted by Forumer.
