| Member | Hi there. I just made a new forum with you, the second forum with you, and i have spent hours setting it all up. So you can imagine me being a bit annoyed when i can't post in it. All the permissions are correct, i just can't post in my welcome forum. Can anyone suggest anything? I've tried posting in other places too, and that doesn't work. I've tried switching browser too. In firefox, the page just says it's loading, and then stops, but the previous page remains. In IE, it syas it's loading, and then i get a page cannot be displayed thing. I click new topic, and that happens. Can anyone tell me what's going on? I'm on server 5, and my forum is reayfamilly.5.forumer.com/index.php?act=idx Thanks Jon |

| Junior Forumer ![]() | Delete that welcome forum and create a new one. If you edited the forum instead of creating a new one from the initial setup, you may have missed something...I did the same thing. Just create a new one and start over. |

| Member | I've tried that. I can't seem to post anywhere else either. EDIT It seems i've posted this in the wrong place. I'm using IPB! Oh god i'm an idiot ... Can somebody move this please? Last edited by Phat_pengiun; 10-07-2005 at 09:24 AM. |

| Member | Hi again. I've just discovered the same thing is happening with me logging in. All i get is the "please stand by" message, and the next page never loads. When i click the link to not wait, it does the same thing as trying to post - pretending to load, and then never getting anywhere. This is really annoying me now. Can anybody help please? I state again: I am using IPB. This is in the wrong place!!! Thanks Jon |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() fTrader: (35) My Forumer My Country: | I'm clueless myself unfortunately. I registered, and found that in the first 3 forums it says I don't have permissions to start a new topic, and in the other forums I get an error saying the server closed the connection. Could be something with the server, or your forum. Sorry I don't have an answer ![]() |

| Member | Yeah, it's really annoying. The 1st forum should be unavailable to post in, the second two should be available. I don't undersatnd what's going on either. This is really annoying I might delete the first category, and see what happens. if that doesn't work, i'll have no choice but to host it somewhere else i'm afraid, or try again. Thanks for trying, Infernus, it's nice to have another person who has experienced it! ![]() EDIT Still having the same problem ![]() Last edited by Phat_pengiun; 10-08-2005 at 02:13 PM. |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() fTrader: (35) My Forumer My Country: | I have a forum on server 5 as well, and everything is working fine. It's nearly a year old though. It may be a problem with your forum, if you're absolutely sure you have done nothing to mess it up and you have set the permissions, there's not much we can do. There could be something wrong, but I think it might be your forum. Hard to tell ![]() |

| Member | I think all my permissions are correct, i've done exactly what i've done for other forums, and that's been fine. Do you mind if i give you admin privilages, and you take a look if you don't mind? Just say no if you're not interested, i just wonder if there is something i've missed. |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() fTrader: (35) My Forumer My Country: | I don't mind if you do, but I am wondering if I will find anything either. I can take a look though. If I don't find anything, wait to see if a moderator has anything to do or say. |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() fTrader: (35) My Forumer My Country: | Sorry to say, but this is nothing fixable. It wouldn't be so bad just making a new forum, which should fix the problem, because it would fix the url (from reayfamilly to reayfamily). It shouldn't happen again though, I have tried many forums on server 5 and yours is the only one with this problem. It was probably just an error that occured when you set up the forum on registration. It happens occasionally. If you wouldn't mind just setting it up again everything should work out fine ![]() Sorry about all of this ![]() |

| Senior Forumer ![]() | If this does not help then try Infernus's way. But try the following first. Admin CP >> Users and Groups >> Desired User Group >> Edit Group >> Posting Permissions Now make sure that the "Can post new topics (where allowed)?" option is set to yes. Rep Power: 5 ![]() fTrader: (35) My Forumer My Country: | I already checked that, everything is set so that it will work, but it doesn't. It will probably have to be restarted. ![]() |
