I run a Football Forum and I have found a women's football newslink which creates a boxed link ( towards bottom of screen) to a small pop-up which provides news on women's football in the UK.

Could Limez or someone from Admin please check it out and tell me if it contravenes the forumer.com TOS or not. If it does, then of course I shall remove it.

It is very helpful, if you can make guests see the board.

You are using the service not advertising the service... I would say that it is ok, but I am not authorized either way to tell you what is right and what is wrong.

Kurisu, or anyone, if a criteria is that neither I nor the service/site are making money then why was I once told that I couldn't have a link to a Football Results Service which was not making money??

My site here at forumer.com is a Football Site and although the Google ads which are now generally tailored to us are nice I can't understand why I cannot offer my members any football related service which is free and not in any way a money-making venture.

I also had an opportunity to have my forumer site listed on a site that promotes football forums in return for placing a link to them. Again..not a money making venture as no money was to pass hands..it was just an opportunity to get our board out to a wider audience but I was told that was not acceptable.

Is this still the case?

this is a very wierd situation, In my experience lots of people have links to what they call affiliates on their forumer site, in fact fmods supports the code. Now the problem is that every situation has to be dealt with differently... so here is some advice, if you feel you have to question whether you can do something or not... don't do it until you are confident that you can... and after you do it, do not question it... someone will tell you if you are doing something wrong. Now I can understand why that link to that football promotion site could be seen as questionable, but the service you are currently using should be just fine... but I could be wrong... remember that limez is the one who will always have the final say in the matter.

Thank you so much for the replies..you've all been a great help.

My last question ( I promise!) is this: If I place a link on my site which Limez/forumer.com disapprove of, can I assume that I will be contacted in some way and not log on one morning to find that my site has 'disappeared'!

This may sound a bit of a paranoia-driven question but like many here, I've spent a couple of years building up a nice site with great bunch of members and I would hate to have it all disappear because of an inadvertant error on my part.

Thanking you in advance and just want to say that forumer.com does rock and believe me I've seen the competitors!
