is there a way i can stop members/guests from stealing pictures/URL and everything else in my forum? i dont want them to use right click. is that possible?

The no right click Is good for fending off newbiew to web design so up agents a experianced web designer the no right click script dosnt work very well. But I have found away around this! i have found a combanation of the no right click script plus another(I am not telling you witch the second Is) can stop almost all in its tracks. But not recamended with public image host. If you have an images host to where you can incode your images site url then It Is possable to stop all even the most experianced web designer. if non of this is avalabul to you then all I can say is tuff luck. Sorry If i am no help.

People can easily escape from the right click function. All they have to do is disable javascript in their brwoser (cause it works by javascript), it's a moot point really.

There's a very easy way to stop direct/hot linking with .htaccess but that needs FTP (but I don't really think that's what you're looking for)

even though if the right click was disabled, people can Prt Scm the screen.

So what's happening? are people taking all of your images? If they're YOUR images, tell them to put a copyright, if they don't.. report them cause they're stealing your images.

Ya I had compleatly forgoten about that whole print scrn button. And good one with the java disabel. Well that can stop my script too. Well point Is that there Is no way to compleatly stop this. But you could send your images privitly or even put your copyright on It, or there Is even the preview trick. Just place preview in a big font size on your work making It null or void. You could make the preview transparent to let them all see It but keep the null and void effect. Then who ever gets the image just pm them with the image. Hope this helps.

I think the best way to prevent stealing bandwith is that Forumer should have a way to prevent links from being taken. Many sites are doing that, for example: geocities', freefronthost.com's,... links don't work in any other places.

I suggest putting your forum name in the pictures somewhere.

If you made the image I'm pretty sure that someone stealing it isn't allowed and you should contact their web host. Otherwise its really forumers decision weather they want to stop hotlinking I dont' think it would really matter to you.

Also, if someone is using an IPB image in a non-IPB forum. report him/her to Invision Power board cause the images are only meant to be used on IPB board or if they have a forum host, contact them. But if someone is using IPB images for an IPB board, then that's fine.

And like mentioned repeatedly, put a copyright in your images.

i don't know if i should open a new thread or not. but how do i disble them(members) from viewing the members' list

Admin CP > User & groups > Manage groups > Edit Members

Look to where it says "Can view member profiles and the member list?" and check 'no'

But it looks like it disallows them from viewing profiles as well.

man tried it...it works...but they cant us the PM or nothing. all i want is that they cant view but still can PM,look in their my controls "
