Hey Forumer Team,

Just wondering that if people post Japanese music video links and TV performance links (my forum is in English) is this considered illegal? Mainstream Japanese Music websites feature forums with video downloads, and was just wanting to get this cleared up!

You can do it, as long as the music videos are FREE TO AIR and downloading them doesn't infringe any copyright or other laws. As long as the link you are posting is completely legal, you should be ok. Just make sure you double and triple check.

well, im judging this on one site (with forums). They have links and affiliations with music labels in Japan (with advertisements and stuff) and in their forums they amke it clear that they offer videos and that sort of material. Generally it wont be me posting, im just asking if it is ok if member of my forum participate in this activity.

There will be no trading on mp3s as it will be far too difficult to check copyright legislations against every single file.

Just wondering your thoughts on this, thanks.

You can't post anything that is illegal, infringes copyright, or anything else that violates Forumer's ToS. I suggest you read through Forumer's Terms of Service and see whether what you want to do violates this or not.

hmm im still trying to find out of these videos really are illegal, and in what states because this material is freely distributed on japanese sites without problems..but on an american server..i wonder what will happen.....

You also have to remember that japanese servers are notorious for illegal content. As piracy is a big industry in japan...............

ahh yes, but this isn't an underground site, but a mainstream site with ads from japanese music labels!
