And why is it that this support site doesn't have the same issue with smilies as what a lot of other people are having?

i also had this problem bt has know been fixed its something to do with your forum not being able to find the emoticons directory on the server.
Just need to wait for a admin to come around and fix it

I have fixed the clickable smilies/ admin cp menu images not working problem

In the html url section of system settings, general configuration I typed in the following:
