| Member | Is there an easy way to transfer old topics in an old YaBB forum over to my Forumer forum? I want to move topics from my old forum into my new one, with everything in the appropriate categories, all old members that haven't moved over get an account with all info entered in their profiles, and everyone's post counts updated...and all YaBB tags (like [MOVE] and [GLOW] ) that aren't Invision-compatible fixed. Is there an easy way that won't delete topics that already exist in the new Forums or mess anything up? My current forum is http://jeremymaharg.3.forumer.com and my old one is on a crappy free YaBB Forum host that covers my old forum in banners and popups... |

| Junior Forumer ![]() | First off, you would have to be able to get the mysql database from the host providing your YaBB forum. It is unlikely that they will provide this for you. If you are able to get that, I believe the policy here is that the forum will be imported if you have at least 500 members. I doubt they will fix the YaBB tags to be compatible, but you could go through and do that if it was important enough. You also have to consider that the databases might not even be compatible. Basically, there's the issues of it probably not being allowed (here or at the other host), and the issues that it could be very difficult to impossible, even if everyone was willing to fully cooperate. |

| Active Forumer ![]() | actually... there IS a somewhat sneaky way to do it. you could view source on the threads you want, & copy all the HTML. then get a free website (like angeltowns.com they're ad free) & paste the pages into webpages there, & post the links to em into topics at your new board. it would be a lot of work though. |
