how do we upload stuff onto the server

i got all the settings but when im posting, i use the little bar at the bottom and selected a file on my computer but it always gives me an error and when i refresh the page it brings me back to my main forum
wots ron?

Which Server are you on? We have gotten many problems similar to this from server 5 users.

check the size of the file you're trying to upload. If its larger than 500kb then you wont be able to upload it. 500kb is the limit.

That's why it's really only images that you can do.

Yes. Uploading any other type of file can cause this type of problem. This is fixed in IPB 2.0.

Well I can't think of another file less then 500k, images, docs maybe a small wav sound.

Well, if that's the case, I would set the maximum image file warning to 500k, just to let the members know.

but i setted the max to 2048kb is that too big?
it wud b nice if we cud upload larger ones tho, yeah im on server 5 too

Whoa, that's too big, set it to 500 Kilobytes. 2 MegaBytes might cause more problems.

I still don't understand why those on severs 1-3 can upload extra.

The old servers have already had most of the maintenence it can get. Now we have the new servers (4-6) which are new, and newer, un-maintained hardware means bugs.

Probably not. It wasn't expected that Forumer would grow to be so huge - That's why earlier servers had larger limits. Now it would simply cost way too much to allow larger uploads.
