Default Lost Password Validation not working

I have been having problems for quite sometime now. I have been trying to recover my admin account, and using the Lost Password link and the email it generates I can't change the password of the account.

I have tried this with 3 different accounts and all 3 do the exact same thing.
I recieve the email and follow the link which comes to where I need to enter the new password, but upon continuing I get the following error on the forum:

I have tried both processes listed in the email on atleast 3 or 4 different computers and connection methods, but I end up in the same spot.

I suspect something could be wrong with the Validation process/functions. Could someone please assist.

Just so that it doens't get lost, I tried again and still doesn't work PLIX help.

Just incase it's not clear, my forum url is http://asgard1.1.forumer.com


Ok now this is weird, I retried it again with a different account and it worked for that one. I don't understand how this works for one account but not for another. Please keep inmind a while back when I tested it I did it also with the account that works now.

Could it be a problem with Hotmail not recieving the mail properly or something ?

I suspect that something is setup incorrectly when it comes to your admin account.

Please specify if this is your ROOT admin account, or if it is just another account with access to the ACP.

Also, are there any other accounts that have access to the ACP?

This is the Root admin account, there are a couple of other accounts who have access to the ACP. Some with only limited access, then three accounts who have as much access as I could grant them without giving them full admin access.

That is to say I created two groups based on the admin account. These groups can't edit the setup of the forums or edit Admin users.

The second account with full ACP access' password can't be recovered due to me not recieving emails from forumer @ work.

If I can recover the root account all my problems will be solved.

So you have 2 root admin accounts and not able to access either of them?

Did you check the junk mail folder?

Yes I basically created a 2nd Root account. And can't get to either. I have checked all Junk mail folders. No mails come through for the second one. "/


EDIT:
I have just sent an email to th guys administering the Mailmarshal and security features of our mail system @ work, asking them for assistance in finding out why I am not recieving the emails for the 2nd Root account. Hopefully they can resolve that and then my problems will be over I think.

Will update as I know more.

Ok, I can't get the people to release the validation emails in time. They do it within 24 hours no matter howmuch I ask to do it ASAP.


Is there someway that we could try and get the original Root Account back ?

As the FAP is not working at the moment there is not much more we can do unfortunatelly............just keep on trying with those emails....

Well it seems like the 2nd Root account is a no go. Our networking company says that the mails comming from Forumer for the password recovery does not conform to the rules they have in place and is classified as spam. Thus they will not be white listing it for the mails to come through.

Guess I am now stuck with a forum I won't ever be able to upgrade/change again.

What does it mean exactly? What rules do they have?

I know we can't give a time prediction as to when but the FAP will be sorted one day....

But for the moment maybe try to find out what rules do they have exactly?

I have now sent the Network guys the copy of the Validation email, requesting info on what rules the mail does not satisfy.
So hopefully they will give me the info needed and I can supply you with it.

And just maybe you could modify the mailing system you have in place to function a little different ?


EDIT:
I must just say thanks for all the help so far, and sorry if I come across rude/impatient or whatever. I really like forumer cause it's a forum system I know relatively well and trust.

Ok I have recieved feedback from the Network people, and it was as I thought. It is because there is no From Address in the mails.

So in theory the fix should be very simple. Just give it a From address Something like Validation@forumer.com should do

ok I am not sure if we can do that, I will try to find out, but I had another idea...

You have 2 root admin accounts right? is there anyone (another admin or a mod) who can edit users details? Doesn't matter that they can not edit your permissions as long as they can edit the password or the email address through the ACP...

I have hotmail, yahoo mail and gmail and I am receiving emails from my forum in all with no problems.

I have checked all my groups. And none of them are able to edit the details of the Root Admins. Which is a pain, but I understand the reasoning behind it.
