Both, and while the 2nd link is better, the only thing visually appealing is the image in the top left hand corner. It seems like it could just be more dazzling and appealing. Something that I'd see and go, "Wow, I really want these guys to design my webpage."

I will be thinking what that could be. Could you give me an example of a site that you would think "Wow, I really want these guys to design my webpage."?

I don't mean negatively, but really just about anything other than the current layout because the plain white background is so plain. The only example of something I could think of would be like fellow forumer member mindXstudio and their work. If I saw the this:

I wouldn't mind shelling out some cash or going to you guys to design my website for me.

I understand that you don't have image software, and that therefore it is difficult to do stuff. I just wonder, could you really make appealing websites for people if you can't do graphics?

A legitamite question that is. What is the best (photoshop, right?) and how expensive is it?

I wish to get GIMP but I have nowhere to download it (I have dialup). I might ask a friend if I can use his internet.

I use Adobe Photoshop around $600 I think, and I think it's the best. I don't have any experience with Gimp...

The scanlines in the background are not only too dark, but are sketchy. The background is the key to good looks on a website, and the scanlines kill it big time. I would lower the opacity on them, and make each line closer together.

The layout itself is just too simple, and it doesn't exactly flow so well. That hover thing over the contentbox is annoying and rather distracting to me. Instead of just laying out the text, you should stick them in boxes similar to the ones on this page, but make them smaller obviously. That submenu you have there is way too basic, and I'm not really feeling those lines around the links. Your banner is just randomly set out there. The purple doesn't go with the layout as there is no purple lighting things elsewhere.

Really, I can't say I'm a big fan of that one, but it's decent.

Definitely cleaner, and even more simple. It's better than the other one, but I feel it's too simple for a website building company. I assumed this one isn't finished, so there isn't much to say here.
