People have always been wondering... How do i get alot of people to join my forum ?

Heres your answer. When you show off in the Show-Off board here are some good examples of what you can tell people to get more visitors to your site:

1. Describe your forum alittle like whats it about and stuff.
2. Create a button/affiliate for your forum and tell people about it.
3. Submit your forum to over 100,000 search engines.
4.Setup a form that makes it easy for your visitors to recommend your site (or product) to their friends.
5.Make yourself (your name and your website's name) known.
6.Participate in forum discussions. (post,etc ..)

Those are some helpful ideas for everyone when you advertise your forum (www.forumer.com forum) on www.forumer.com.

Hope this helps everyone that needs members !

Actually in order to submit your forum into search engines you need to use meta tags. Here is a example of a meta tag:

Quote:
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Cache-Control" content="no-cache">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Expires" content="0">
<META NAME="Description" content="An amazing Forumer™ board!">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="content-language" content="EN">
<META NAME="Title" content="Forumer User">
<META NAME="Rating" content="General">
<META NAME="Robots" content="index,follow">
<META NAME="Abstract" content="Forumer">
<META NAME="Author" content="User1010">
<META NAME="Keywords" content="Forumer is l33t">
<META NAME="Copyright" content="User1010">
<META NAME="Designer" content="User1010">
<META NAME="revisit-after" content="7">
Since there is no section in the ACP that is designed only for meta taging you might just have to play around with it a bit. Try placing it in your CSS, HTML settings, etc. Be sure to edit it.

Meta Tags are useless these days. They were used for search engines ages ago. Now the search engine actually reads what you have on there instead of reading what keywords you have in the meta tags.

If you want your site on google then get a site in google to link to you and you can use the google add url page which helps.

Alot of your forums would already been in google though, Paste your url into google, if you can view the cache for your site then its in google.

actually some search engines still look at the meta tags so it's not completely useless yet...

Google still use meta tags for things - they're not useless no.

the only thing google will read is your robots tag. The only other tag that google sometimes uses is the description tag which then puts that in there when you type it in google. It doesnt' do it for every site with description meta tags though for some reason.

basically meta tags arn't really needed at all unless your trying to block a certain search engine or you want a custom description.
