I just recently installed FirFox and I have a question.
Why do the mini profile seperator lines in the threads of my forum vary depending on how wide a users profile is in FF and not in IE?

Hmm that doesn't happen to me. But IE and FF do display pages differently, however there's an extension for Firefox that you can download to make Firefox display pages "IE-style". You can get it from the official Mozilla extentions page.

I think Firefox is much better, just my personal opinion. Just incase you do decide, I found the link for the extension to make Firefox display pages like IE: https://addons.mozilla.org/extension...cation=firefox

Ahem, FireFox outstrips IE in everything!

Make the switch! You soon get used to it and realise how customisable it is, and i get no popups that I dont want, absoulutely none!

Incase you have a fast connection, you can speed up firefox a lot.
Basically, after getting to the hidden config settings you set the browser to request more data than it usually does.

In case you make the switch:

Code:

1.Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit return. 
Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. 
When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, 
which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. 
This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. 
Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0”. 
This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on
information it receives.

Understandable. Try what I did - Move to another browser on IE's engine (meaning that pages will be displayed the same, maybe with some ads blocked) and then move to Firefox. I suggest Avant for the changeover. Tabbed browsing, ad blocking features, and a fabulous interface.

When you do want to make the switch to Firefox, take a couple hours to mull over the available extensions. Make the browser look and feel exactly the way you want it to, and then take it for a drive. You'll probably want to change some extensions after a little while and through your Firefox experience, but that's normal and easy to do.

Fasterfox rocks, I have 13 extensions installed on it, this one is particulary helpful
