Hey everyone, I was just curious about something... Does anyone think that the rules on my forum are to harsh? Or do you think they are OK? Is there any suggestions that you have?

Here is what I have:

- Your post/topic/signature/avatar etc will be edited
- Your post/topic etc will be moved
- Your post/topic/signature/avatar etc will be deleted
- You will become a restricted user temporarily
- You will become a restricted user permanently
- You will be banned temporarily
- You will be banned permanently

New Members
-- We are glad you have joined, and hope you will stay active in our forum, but any new member that does not post within 1 month will be deleted.

Staff
-- Thank you for your continued support, however, due to the limited number of staff positions, we do need our staff to stay active!
-- If a staff member has not posted in 1 month, they will be demoted automatically!

** Administration has the right to change these rules & regulations at any time.

If you have any questions please contact an Administrator or Moderator

Heh, these used to be mine when I had a forum:

All attacks will be deleted, your account will be removed, and you will be contacted by the Administrator. Attacks are completely unacceptable!

Limited swearing. Obsessive swearing is rude and offensive. All rude posts will be deleted and you will be contacted by an Administrator. In a severe case, your account may be suspended. You may swear, but please keep it limited.

No Sexual Content! I will not permit any kind of sexual content to be posted in my forums. If I see it, or get it reported to me (The Administrator), your account will be suspended until further notice. Also, your post will be deleted.

If you feel that any posts are rude or inappropriate send me a PM about it. It will then get reported to me.

I think your rules are fine. I think they leave nothing to doubt. They are thorough, exact and to the point. I think the rules are very appropriate.

Why are you asking? Did one of your members question the rules?

I've been to your site. Although I'm not able to post within the "technical" forums, I do enjoy the "general" posts. You have a good site!

As far as why... well, I had a couple members causing problems lately, and when I took action based on the rules, i got "I hate this G** D*** Forum, I aint cummin back"

So I was just making sure I wasn't being to harsh... TO give you an example, this user started a thread, and posted like 10 times in it (no one else had even seen it yet!) and half of the posts were stuff like "erm" "ha" "lol" Just pointless spamming

Oh well, that member is banned now, and not welcome back!

Rules are ok, clear and to the point. Personally I would not have the staff section or the consequences section in the rules. (and I hardly see edited/moved post as a punishment too)

I saw his posts.. And I'm so glad he's banned..

If he was on my forum, he would've been flying out in no time.
