I used to have the 4th generation ipod, i recently replaced it however with a new sony HD-1, the sound quality is much better, i still love my ipod though. Great for looking flashy

this may sound like im being a snob, but ipods are not good enough for me... YET.

mini=20 max
reg=40 max
photo=60 max

(that was gigs)

I have over 100 gigs of music, and I had to buy a 320 gig harddrive because I had music that I couldn't put on my storage server. (btw almost all of it is legit, and I have 2 walls full of cd's)

so a 40 gig ipod would be a pain in the ass since they do so much to prevent file sharing that it makes it not the greatest userfriendly device for removing and updating that limited 40 gig space. If there was a ipod liek device that was better @ managing files so that I could just update the list, modify, or even just change a little of it without having to make a big deal of it with special software and everything.

The only other way I see myself buying 1 is when they reach over 100 gigs I might consider it since I could live having 2 ipods and spliting my music. Oh and 1 more thing..... does Ipod support a device that allows you to use it in the car?

Yea they have this thing you plug in then you tune it to a radio staion and play it over your cars radio
